Full fibre. Faster speeds. Better reliability.

FTTP replaces the copper or node portion of your connection with a direct fibre line all the way to your premises — permanently unlocking the full capability of the NBN.

Higher speeds

Unlock NBN speed tiers up to 2000/500 Mbps. Typical FTTN connections max out at 80–100 Mbps download.

Better upload speeds

FTTP delivers dramatically faster uploads — essential for video conferencing, cloud backups and hosted VoIP.

More reliable connection

Fibre isn't affected by rainfall, electrical interference or copper degradation. Fewer faults, less unplanned downtime.

Lower latency

Direct fibre reduces ping times — important for cloud applications, VoIP call quality and real-time services.

Future-proof technology

FTTP is the gold standard of fixed-line broadband. Once upgraded, your premises is ready for faster NBN tiers as they roll out.

$0 installation

The upgrade is provided at no charge for eligible premises. Caznet manages the entire process — no hidden fees.

Which connections can upgrade to FTTP?

The FTTP upgrade is available to businesses currently connected via the following NBN technology types. If you're unsure what technology type your premises is on, contact us and we'll check immediately.

FTTN
Fibre to the Node

Fibre runs to a street cabinet; copper connects your premises from there. This is the most commonly eligible connection type for the FTTP upgrade.

FTTC
Fibre to the Curb

Fibre runs to a pit near your premises; a short copper run handles the final connection. Commonly eligible under the NBN upgrade program.

HFC
Hybrid Fibre Coaxial

Cable-based connection. Some HFC premises are eligible for FTTP upgrade depending on the NBN Co rollout in your area. Contact us to check.

Already on FTTP? You don't need the upgrade — but we may be able to improve your plan. View our NBN Business plans →

FTTP upgrade — common questions

  • Yes. For eligible premises, NBN Co provides the FTTP upgrade at no charge under their standard upgrade rollout or Technology Choice Program. Caznet does not charge any additional installation or project management fees. You simply need an active NBN service with us (or you can switch to Caznet at the same time).

  • Eligibility is determined by NBN Co based on your address and current connection technology. Premises on FTTN, FTTC, or some HFC connections are most commonly eligible. The simplest way to find out is to call our Adelaide team — we can check your address against the NBN Co availability list in minutes.

  • Once Caznet lodges the upgrade order with NBN Co, lead times vary depending on scheduling and area — typically 2–6 weeks for a technician appointment. The physical installation at your premises generally takes 2–4 hours. We'll keep you informed throughout the process.

  • Yes, there will be a brief outage during the technician's visit — typically 1–2 hours. Caznet will advise you of the expected window in advance so you can plan around it. For businesses with critical uptime requirements, we can discuss failover options such as a 4G backup service during the transition.

  • FTTP uses a different physical connection (Ethernet from the NBN NTD, rather than a phone or coaxial jack), so most existing routers can still be used — they simply plug into the NTD. However, if you're upgrading to a high-speed tier like NBN 1000 or NBN 2000, you may need a router capable of handling gigabit throughput. Our team can advise and supply business-grade hardware if needed.

  • FTTP supports the full range of NBN speed tiers — from NBN 100 up to NBN 2000 (2000/500 Mbps). This is significantly faster than what FTTN or FTTC connections can achieve. The tier you access depends on the plan you choose. See our NBN Business Internet plans for details and pricing.

  • Yes. Many businesses use the FTTP upgrade as an opportunity to move to a faster speed tier. Caznet can coordinate the plan upgrade and the technology upgrade simultaneously, so you go live on fibre at the new speed without any extra steps.

  • Yes. Caznet can manage both the provider switch and the FTTP upgrade at the same time. We handle all communication with NBN Co and your current provider, and coordinate timing to minimise disruption. Contact our Adelaide team to discuss the process.
